Absolutely wonderful.

The breakfasts were fantastic. Lots of choice of the cooked breakfasts and lots of fruit and extras. Everything was fresh and beautifully presented. Individual tastes were catered for. The dining room was absolutely lovely and there is a deck overlooking the garden where we had canapes. Lots of native bird life to look at. Our hosts were friendly and accommodating without being intrusive. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was beautiful and comfortable and the cottage was a fantastic place to stay. Mod cons as needed without removing the character of the cottage. Everything was clean and fresh. I would highly recommend this b and b. and I wouldn't hesitate to go again if the opportunity arises.

A Welcomed Retreat

My husband and I were greeted by Phillip and Rayma on our arrival and the car windows washed by Phillip on our departure. Everything in-between during our four days at Cobden was just as absolutely charming!
The home is beautifully furnished to show-off the pre 1930's era of fashion and design.
Service included a full breakfast menu; drinks and canapés on the verandah in the evening; the bed prepared for the night and a clean and comfortable room and ensuite that showed off a beautiful view of the garden. The majestic garden with shrubbery and well -established trees hid any clues that the homestead was in a quiet suburban cul-de-sac.
Phillip and Rayma were non-intrusive, warm and meticulous in the way that they looked out for us. Bubbles to celebrate our wedding anniversary will always be a special memory.
Mission Estate Winery was our favourite night out.
Te Mata Peak was our favourite view.
Cobden Garden was our favourite retreat.
Thank you Phillip and Rayma.
We recommend to ourselves to come again and to others - to book and stay at your wonderful home.

Exceeded the expectation

Phillip and Rayma are super nice and friendly. It was nice meeting and talking to them. They go far beyond to look after the guests and let you feel welcomed. House is beautiful inside out. Room is spacious and spotless, having everything we need. A glass of port from them was a sweet retreat after coming back at late night. The breakfast was very impressive. We were offered a menu for the mains like a restaurant, apart from the continental options such as fruits, croissants, toast with butter and jams, fruit juice and a proper expresso machine made flat white. A perfect stay.

Spent a fabulous 2 nights with Phillip and Rayma, the most kind and generous hosts imaginable.

The attention to detail was wonderful and the breakfasts yummy. Loved the wine and canapés in the evening and chatting with Phillip and Rayma and other guests.

Cannot praise Cobden highly enough and will definitely recommend to everyone

My wife and I spent 2 delightful days in Napier and chose this lovely and tranquil B&B. The hosts were incredibly helpful and friendly. Breakfasts were varied, tasty with lots of choices. The evening drinks gave us the opportunity to socialise with the hosts and the guests where we could exchange experiences

Had a wonderful stay at Cobden Gardens. Phillip and Rayma provided exceptional hospitality and are great company and know everything about the area including all of the history. There wasn't a question they could not answer. I stayed there on a business trip and they really make you feel special and relaxed in their immaculate and very comfortable vintage bnb. And of course the food was delicious and some of the fruits were new to me so it was a real treat. I would love to go back again one day. Thanks so much guys you have become like family to me. I highly recommend Cobden Garden."

We had a wonderful stay at the Cobden Garden, very attentive hosts and a beautiful room. Its the small touches that Rayma and Phillip add to your stay, which make it personal. They are full of knowledge about the city they live in, offering good advice about places to see and go, ringing and booking trips for you.
Our room was stunning, with the most luxurious bathroom. Breakfasts were to die for, everything you could imagine.
Thankyou Rayma and Phillip for letting us have the pleasure of staying with you, we were two weary travellers when we came, two relaxed and re energised travellers when we left.

Chris & Linda - UK - February 2013

A wonderful place to stay. We arrived early and our room was not ready but Rayma made us very welcome with tea and cakes before we set out to explore Napier.
Our room was very comfortable and nicely furnished. The complimentary drinks on the terrace before we went out for our evening meal was very relaxing and added to this pleasurable stay in Napier. Rayma was very helpful with advice on local trips and activities. The breakfast provided was excellent with lots to choose from.
This was a memorable stay, thanks for a wonderful couple of days, we wish it had been longer.

The best accommodation that we have had here in New Zealand. Also warm and friendly atmosphere. We should stay longer......

Ann and Jim - Great Britain - March 2003

This was the highlight of our B and B stays. Phillip and Rayma have a gift for hospitality and have got it just right! Breakfasts were a delight with all sorts of goodies, freshly baked by Rayma. There was always something different on offer.  But for us the icing on the cake were the evening gatherings on the verandah where we were offered wines selected by Phillip and nibbles beautifully presented by Rayma.

Laurie and Kim - Canada - October 2002

Your warm, gracious hospitality has been overwhelming. We have stayed in B&Bs from Australia to Canada. All the hosts should come to you for training!  What a memorable experience you have given us.

Alexandra - Germany - February 2002

I have to say thank you to my destiny for staying in such a wonderful place! Yummy breakfast, wonderful hosts and lovely house. It's a little bit hard to come to stay every month but I hope to come back some time. Thank you! I enjoyed every minute. I am sad that I have to go away but glad I can come back!

Jim & Maureen - USA - February 2002

We really did enjoy your gracious home and your unending attention to our needs, which did not go unnoticed. You both have the knack of knowing what people want but being unobtrusive about it. We do hope to return again one of these days.....
