Breakfast Menu

All happiness depends on a leisurely breakfast.

To get you started:

Enjoy home style muesli or cereal of choice with freshly poached fruit, seasonal fresh fruit, and homemade creamy yoghurt with local fresh orange or feijoa juice.

Accompanied by your choice of hot beverage and bakery delights:

  • A plunger of freshly brewed, locally roasted, organic and free trade coffee.
  • A teapot of freshly made loose leaf English Breakfast tea.
  • A cup of creamy hot chocolate.
  • Or choose from a range of herbal or caffeine free teas.
  • With a selection of bakery items including: croissants, toasted fruit bread, bran muffins, fresh homemade bread and toast.


The Main Event:

Farmhouse breakfast: Large locally farmed eggs prepared as you like them, grilled organic, free range, dry cured, bacon, grilled tomatoes and sautéed mushrooms and an extra of sausages if you would like.

Cobden Scrambled Eggs:  Creamy scrambled eggs, with South Island smoked salmon, and fresh garden herbs, served on homemade whole bread toast.

Omelette: Buttery and delicious your two egg omelette can be plain, herbed or filled with a mixture of tomato and mushroom and topped with grated cheese and accompanied with bacon.

Convent Eggs: Local eggs baked in the oven on a bed of bacon with a splash of cream added. Served with toast soldiers.

Pancakes:  Freshly made from pantry staples, delicious with Canadian maple syrup and bacon or fried banana.

Tropical French Toast: Soaked in egg and coconut milk flavoured with a little cardamom this is an exotic twist on an old favourite.  Accompanied with Canadian maple syrup.

Feeling like something extra special:

Homemade Waffles with Canadian maple syrup or the traditional Eggs Benedict served with homemade hollandaise.  Just advise us the night before if you would like either of these options.
